If you capture EXIF orientation information for JPEG and TIFF images you can configure ACDSee to automatically rotate the images so they display at the correct orientation in the Browser, Viewer, and Edit Mode.
To turn on this option:
- In the ACDSee Browser, click Tools | Options.
- Click General.
- Select Automatically rotate JPEG and TIFF images based on EXIF orientation.
- Click OK.
If you used another application to rotate the images and that application did not update the EXIF orientation information, when you open the images in ACDSee they may appear to be rotated beyond the correct orientation.
To determine if this is happening:
- Clear the Automatically rotate JPEG and TIFF images based on EXIF orientation option.
- Click OK.
- Click Database | Rebuild Thumbnails and Metadata.
- Display the images in the Browser or Viewer again.
If the images display at the correct orientation, you can be certain that the other application did not update the EXIF orientation information.
